Walking Through Chaos to Find Your Guiding Star
The past few weeks of 2024 (starting in November and going into mid December) have been incredibly turbulent, with everything feeling like it’s in constant motion. In the midst of this chaos, I’ve been lucky to spot the light and truth - that stability doesn’t come from the outside world, it must come from within.
Navigating the storm and finding clarity
In November things started to move very fast, I was juggling several key professional events and sessions on Introvert leadership for women, monthly session for a group of female entrepreneurs, additionally I experienced a challenging environment to work in and be able to focus, also came several exciting opportunities - all at the same time 😃 and in personal life ongoing issues with neighbours have disrupted the peace of my own home – normally the place to rest and refuel.
Maybe you too have found yourself drained emotionally at some point this year, trying to navigate both external and internal chaos. It’s easy, in times like these, to feel completely destabilised—waiting for circumstances to align so that things will feel manageable again. But through this, I’ve learned something that shifted my perspective: stability must come from within.

The Turning Point: Realising Inner Stability
As the chaos unfolded around me, with one thing after another, I found myself longing for stability. But instead of finding it, I felt it slipping further away.
The emotional drain of trying to fix everything—my environment, the circumstances, the chaos—reached a breaking point. Can you relate? Maybe you too have realised you cannot keep pouring your energy into trying to control what was happening around you. You need to step back and focus on yourself first.
With a clearer head, I’ve even started to see an opportunity in all this change. Once I allowed myself to step back, I could see that this disruption might actually hold a path to something new—a better way to move forward, grounded in optimism and possibility.
Practical Steps to Cultivate Inner Stability
Here’s what helped me—and might help you too:
Remove yourself from the draining environment
This will be give you space to breathe, process, and reconnect with your inner strength. From there, you can begin to rebuild stability—not from the outside in, but from within.
You don’t need days, sometimes a couple of hours to gather your energy back, sometimes the shift can be instant - just by the power of your thought and decision.
Ground yourself in simple habits
I leaned on grounding habits, like prioritising sleep, eating well, and going for daily walks. These may seem mundane, but they created a sense of routine and stability in an otherwise chaotic time.
Find joy in the little things
Wrapping Christmas presents (as it was coming up to Christmas time), singing along to holiday songs, and connecting with family became my emotional anchors. These small acts reminded me of what is important, present and real.
Set boundaries when necessary
Recognising that what is adding to your emotional strain, make the decision to protect your well-being.

Words of encouragement for all of you hard working souls out there!
Your ability to juggle so much and still remain thoughtful about your impact is extraordinary. Processing your experiences—whether through writing, creating, taking a moment to meditate - is a strength, not a burden. It’s okay not to have all the answers now. Trust that clarity will come as you keep navigating these waters with the grace and determination you’ve already shown.
To anyone feeling destabilised by external circumstances, I want to share this: You don’t have to wait for the world to calm down to find peace. Stability isn’t about having a perfect environment—it’s about building an anchor within yourself.
Moving forward with strength and purpose
As I reflect on everything, I’ve come to see that moments of chaos, as overwhelming as they are, also offer opportunities to pause and realign with what truly matters. By stepping back and looking inward, we are able to rediscover our guiding star—the purpose that pulls us forward, no matter how uncertain the path feels.
This isn’t just about finding calm; it’s about building the strength and conviction to follow what is calling you, even when the world around you feels unsteady. The process of reflection in the chaos isn’t easy, but it can reveal new opportunities and clarity you didn’t know were there.

Stability doesn’t come from waiting for life to settle down—it comes from knowing where you’re headed and holding onto that purpose with determination. It’s this sense of direction that allows us to step through challenges, stronger and more sure of the path ahead.
What about you? Have you found clarity amidst uncertainty? How do you connect to your guiding purpose when things feel chaotic? I’d love to hear your reflections.
